Colonoscopy

Colonoscopy is best known for its use as a screening tool for the early detection of colorectal cancer. Colonoscopy lets a doctor closely see the inside of the entire colon and rectum. The doctor is looking for polyps which could be an early sign of cancer. Polyps are small growths that over time can become cancer.

Four doctors perform colonoscopies at Burgess in our outpatient surgery suite:
Dr. Paul Dudley, Dr. Rachel Knudson, Dr. Brandon Kovar.

Call your primary care provider to schedule your colonoscopy.

Mammogram

A mammogram is a low-dose x-ray that allows doctors called radiologists to look for changes in breast tissue. A mammogram can often find or detect breast cancer early, when it’s small and even before a lump can be felt. This is when it’s easiest to treat. Our 3D digital mammograms are performed in a private setting by certified technologists.

Lung Cancer Screening

The earlier you find out you have lung cancer, the better your chance of a cure. Burgess Health Center offers lung cancer screenings that can help detect lung cancer before you show symptoms and before it appears on X-rays, as early as Stage 1.

Visit with your provider to see if you qualify for a lung cancer screening.

Vascular Screening

Vascular diseases such as stroke and abdominal aortic aneurysm are the most severe, non-cardiac related vascular diseases that afflict Americans. Early detection can help prevent life-threatening conditions or long-term disabilities.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm: An AAA happens when the wall of the abdominal aorta “balloons.” The majority of people with AAAs have no symptoms. Screening can be your first line of defense against this silent killer.

Visit with your provider to see if you qualify for a screening.

Wellness Lab

Wellness blood testing labs help you screen for potential issues that could compromise overall health and wellness. The lab department offers this testing on a regular basis. You may view the Wellness Lab Brochure on our website for more details.
