Plan to Have Valentine's Day Lunch at Wear Red Event
Hearts and red décor will set the tone for the Burgess Advantage Wear Red for Heart Health luncheon event on Valentine's Day, Tuesday, February 14. Doors of the Onawa Community Center open at 11 a.m. with education stations and “just for fun” booths.
“We want people to save the date,” said Jean Pekarek of Burgess Health Center, sponsor of the Wear Red event. “All are invited to enjoy a heart healthy lunch, educational speakers and fun activities.”
Burgess has organized more than a dozen booths to highlight education and the day's heart health theme. Staley's will provide a delicious buffet meal to be served at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Drs. Allison Stangel and Brandon Kovar, of Burgess Health Center and Family Medicine Clinic, will deliver the presentation focused on embracing a comprehensive approach to heart health and overall wellness.
“What better way to celebrate a heart themed holiday, than by learning about heart health,” Pekarek said. “Our event has consistently featured fun activities along with physician speakers who share valuable health information with our guests.”
Registration cost is $10 if paid on or before February 7, and $12 after that date. Active Burgess volunteers get $2 off the cost of registration. Individuals can register online at www.burgesshc.org, by picking up a registration form available at Burgess Health Center, or by calling (712) 423-9374.
