Learn About New Weight Loss Program at Burgess
Ann Phillips and Michele Kirkendall, Burgess Health Center registered dietitians, have developed “The Real Weigh,” a weight management program. They have both recently been certified in adult weight management through the American Dietetic Association.
The Real Weigh is different from other programs in that it is not just a new diet or prepackaged foods—it is designed to help individuals identify and then manage the behaviors that keep derailing weight management efforts.
This program uses a lifestyle patterns approach, focusing on three areas: eating, exercise, and coping. The Real Weigh consists of 10 individual visits with Phillips or Kirkendall over six months.
“We are eager to help those struggling to lose weight,” said Kirkendall. “This isn’t just a quick fix regarding weight loss. We want those who have gained and lost weight repeatedly over the years to finally get lifelong results.”
There will be a free informational meeting open to the public on Thursday, November 3 at 5:30 p.m. in the conference rooms of Burgess Health Center in Onawa. If you are interested or have questions please call 712-423-2311.
