Mapleton Golf Event Funds New Physical Therapy Exerciser
Mapleton patients at the Burgess Physical Therapy Clinic are gaining new strength on a NuStep machine purchased with proceeds of the Burgess Foundation golf tournament in Mapleton in May.
NuStep - a recumbent cross trainer which works major muscle groups - features a swiveling chair that makes it easier for people getting on and off, according to Brenda Brown, physical therapy assistant.
A variety of patients are using the NuStep every weekday, she adds, especially elderly patients and patients who have had total knee replacement surgery. Brown and Burgess physical therapist Jenny Miller also work with patients on a treadmill, Airdyne bike, total gym machine and other therapy equipment.
The Burgess Physical Therapy Clinic, housed with other health offices in the lower level of the Burgess Maple Valley Clinic, is open everyday Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tues. and Thurs from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. To learn more, call 712-882-2343.
