Area kids are invited to compete or just have fun in the third annual Big Blue Run event at Lewis and Clark State Park Saturday, June 5, sponsored by Burgess Health Center and Got 2 Move.

A DJ from KSUX 105.7 will broadcast music and announcements and interview persons in a live remote during the event.

Kids' games will be offered from 8 to 9: 30 a.m. followed by run designated just for kids at 9:30 a.m. Top running kids will earn prizes, while all will earn a ribbon. There will be a drawing for a Scheel’s gift card and an IPod Shuffle for kids and an IPod Shuffle drawing for an adult or parent that attends the event with their children.

Adult walkers and runners start at 8 a.m. along the scenic routes by Blue Lake. Adult prizes will be offered to top finishers as well. A pancake breakfast will start serving at 9 a.m. by the Monona County 4H for a freewill donation.

"We want to kick off the summer with a great event for kids and families," says Sue McLaughlin, Got 2 Move coordinator and a Blue Run event leader. “We're extra excited to welcome KSUX and want people to come down to the park and give them a warm Monona County welcome."

Persons can pre-register online at www.burgesshc.org or on forms available in the community. Those who pre-register by May 21 will receive the official 2010 Blue Run t-shirt. Online registrations close June 3.
