Good and bad golfers are invited to join the Burgess Foundation Golf Tournament for morning or afternoon 18-hole rounds and raise funds to benefit men's health Sunday, May 31 at the Onawa Country Club.
Morning golfers will tee off at 7:45 a.m. and afternoon golfers will begin at 1:15 p.m. Lunch and dinner will be served to all golfers.
The 4-golfer scramble best ball event has attracted a full course of 144 golfers last year to enjoy a special outdoor event while raising funds for new medical equipment to enhance healthcare at Burgess Health Center.
This year the foundation proceeds will help purchase an ultrasound transducer for prostate biopsies. The transducer will attach to the ultrasound machine to provide high quality images of the prostate gland in a fast and simple procedure. It includes a thin needle that extracts a small portion of tissue for examination.
"The ultrasound transducer will be used for important outpatient examinations at Burgess," says Burgess President Fran Tramp. "We are proud to be able to provide this new service to advance men’s’ healthcare."
Last year Burgess Foundation raised nearly $14,000 for a new fetal monitor now in use in Burgess Family Beginnings.
The $200 foursome fee includes 18 holes, lunch, dinner, prizes and favors. A new feature this year will an $100 fee for a Team Super Ticket, a value package that includes team mulligans, team skins, beverage coupons and raffle tickets.
For reservations call Josh Lander, tournament coordinator at 423-9287 or Shirley Bruegger at Burgess Foundation, 712-423-9374.
