Burgess Offers Stop Smoking Help
Burgess Health Center is offering an eight-session Stop Smoking Class starting Monday, Feb. 9 and ending in March from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the hospital board room.
Topics will cover understanding an addiction, stress management, relaxation techniques, building confidence, substitute behaviors, weight control and saying “no” in social situations.
The course will be instructed by instructors trained in the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking class format. They will address tips to avoid relapse, nicotine replacement therapy, celebrating the quit day and long-term strategies for maintaining a smoke free lifestyle.
A fee $30 will cover the materials and all eight sessions. Persons can register by calling the Burgess Education offices at 712-423-9354.
