Burgess President is Elected to Hospital Board

Fran Tramp, CEO at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, has been elected to the board of trustees of the Iowa Hospital Association. 

Tramp has been president of Burgess since October of 1996 after serving as chief operating and chief financial officer for three years. As president, he is responsible for facilitating the development of the Board’s strategic plan and implementing the strategic objectives established.

Prior to joining Burgess Tramp worked for seven years in health care finance in a management role and spent two years in public accounting. He was recently awarded his masters degree in hospital administration from the University of Minnesota. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting and business administration from Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D. which presented him with a distinguished alumni award this fall.

Since joining Burgess, Tramp has helped guide its successful capital campaign and

$10 million hospital expansion and renovation. He has helped Burgess obtain advanced technology in surgery, radiology, pharmacy, the laboratory, physical therapy, cardiac rehab and home health care. He has focused attention on enhancing customer relationships, physician recruitment, quality improvement, employee communication and benefits, marketing Burgess and conversions to advanced computer systems.

As a community leader Tramp has been involved in economic development initiatives for Monona County and served as the president of the Onawa Chamber of Commerce.
