Batien is well-known in Siouxland for the extensive number of health reports she presents on KTIV newscasts five days a week. She has worked in all areas of KTIV for nearly 10 years, serving as a producer for the 5, 6 & 10 newscasts, leading the assignment desk, reporting and now co-anchoring the morning newscast “News Channel 4 Today” with Al Joens.

“I have learned so much about getting and staying healthy myself since I started putting health reports together,” Batien says. “But that’s not all. There are also so many medical breakthroughs on a daily basis, it’s truly amazing. Those advancements can help all of us stay healthy, and in many cases save lives.

“Many medical breakthroughs are available right here in Siouxland,” Batien adds. “I take pride in educating our viewers on the great things doctors and nurses are doing right in their own communities like Onawa.”

Booths at the event will offer nail painting, neck massages, jewelry and book sales. Curves will offer body fat checks. The Burgess Gift Shop and ACT 11 will sell items and provide free colon cancer kits.
