Burgess Offers Childbirth Ed Class Jan. 7
Expectant parents are invited to attend a free Prepared Childbirth Class at Burgess Health Center in its conference rooms Monday, Jan. 7 at 6:30 p.m.
The three-hour class, sponsored by Burgess Family Beginnings, also will offer educational materials and snacks.
“Our physicians encourage attendance as an important part of prenatal care,” says Jamie Hansen, nurse practitioner and new OB coordinator at Burgess.
The class provides information on the physical and emotional changes that occur during and after pregnancy, the labor and delivery process and medication/anesthesia choices. Participants also practice breathing techniques for labor and learn about after-deliver care for mom along with basic baby care.
The class, scheduled for the first Monday of every other month, will be offered again in March, May, July, Septembers and November. Persons should pre-register for the class by calling the Burgess Education Department at (712) 423-9354.
