Taylor Earns Certification for Risk Management
Sharon Taylor, director of risk management and accreditation services at Burgess Health Center, has become professionally certified in healthcare risk management from the American Hospital Association in recognition of her professional examination results, work experience, skills and education.
The area of risk management in health care addresses patient and employee safety, patient privacy, prevention education and other factors needed to provide high quality patient care.
The certification exam covers skills in regulatory/accreditation compliance, bioethics, operations, risk financing and other areas.
Taylor now has earned professional certification in two areas at Burgess - risk management and infection control. She became certified in infection control and epidemiology in 2006 by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
Taylor has been associated with Burgess for more than 30 years working in community affairs, health education, compliance, accreditation and other areas. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing a master’s degree in community health administration and health promotion.
