Burgess Health Center Offers Flu Shot Clinics

Burgess Health Center will offer flu and pneumonia shots to area residents at multiple community sites and dates from Oct. 23 to Dec. 4.

“We urge everyone to take advantage of our vaccine clinics to help maintain their health and their families’ health this flu and pneumonia season,” says Beth Trucke, Burgess home health registered nurse and coordinator of the immunizations. “It is important for everyone to realize that they could be infected with the influenza virus, but they may not feel ill. They could pass it on to their families, friends and coworkers.”

Burgess offers the flu and pneumonia vaccines at a reduced rate to the public to make vaccines affordable for as many people as possible. Flu vaccines will be $25 and pneumonia vaccines will cost $40. For seniors and others who have Medicare Part B, Burgess Home Health will bill Medicare Part B for the cost of the vaccines.

Burgess will kick-off the vaccination effort by offering shots during a Fall Health Festival.
Persons should pre-register for their shots by calling Burgess on weekdays from 6:30 a.m.
to 3 p.m. at 712-423-2311 ext. 211. Persons with Medicare Part B should have their Medicare number available.
