Sharon Taylor Earns Certification
Sharon Taylor, director of risk management and accreditation services at Burgess Health Center, has become certified in infection control and epidemiology by the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
Taylor is certified after meeting the stringent educational, practice and written examination requirements of the national board.
In her leadership role working with infection control Taylor examines practices and serves as an educational resource for hospital staff to prevent infections in patients.
“This accomplishment indicates the level of expertise at Burgess,” says Fran Tramp, hospital president. “This certification provides formal recognition to Sharon for her knowledge and skills.”
In addition to leading infection control and risk management activities, Taylor oversees compliance and coordinates accreditation activities. She also has served as director of community affairs and health education and held a number of positions at Burgess over the years. She has a BSN degree at the University of Iowa and holds a master’s degree in community health administration and health promotion.
“Infection Control is an extremely important part of patient safety which is our priority at Burgess,” adds Sharon. “We work very hard to keep our patients safe as well as our staff.”
