Burgess Pledge Supports County Growth
Burgess Health Center has pledged $5,000 a year for three years to Monona County’s new development organization to help create and retain jobs, expand the tax base and strengthen the area economy.
The organization, officially known as Monona County Economic Development Partnership for Growth, (MCEDPG), is currently working to hire an executive director to lead its economic development efforts.
“In addition to providing quality health care to 10,000 county residents, Burgess is important to the region for its ability to attract and retain quality employees and their families in our area,” says Jeff Bean, executive vice president of Western Iowa Power Cooperative and MCEDPG Steering Committee chair. “As the largest employer in the county Burgess is an economic force in Monona County.”
The hospital and its clinics and pharmacies will celebrate the completion of phase one of a $10 million hospital addition and renovation project in March, further supporting services in the community.
“Burgess is committed to advancing the growth and vitality of Monona County,” says President Fran Tramp. “We are working with public and community leaders and local businesses to help our area flourish.”
