Poinsettia Ball Offers Marvelous Merry Evening

Live piano music, chocolate fountains, festive décor, silent auctions and incredible food will be the highlights of the 21st annual Poinsettia Ball to be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Onawa Community Center.

The evening is open to all persons to celebrate the holidays and support Burgess Health Center Foundation.

“The Burgess Foundation is once again pulling out all the stops for our holiday evening,” says Sue Burtch, ball chairperson. “We are thrilled to bring back pianist Thomas Alexander by popular demand. When he played for our ball two years ago, he took requests and there wasn’t anything he couldn’t play. His animated style of entertainment and song selection are great crowd pleasers.”

Alexander, a well-known area musician, is originally from Amsterdam. He has performed recitals throughout the United States, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, France and England where he has delighted audiences with his classical and improvised repertoire. He frequently performs in the Orpheum and its adjacent piano bar.

The evening’s $40 per person ticket price includes food, drinks, entertainment and valet parking. Tickets can be purchased at Burgess Health Center, First Federal in Onawa, First State Bank in Mapleton, Burgess Family Clinics in Dunlap and Sloan, and the Whiting Family Pharmacy in Whiting.

Tickets also can be reserved by calling Sue Burtch at 423-9290, Jessica Stangel at 433-4143 or Chrissy Westendorf at 433-3132.
